Highly engaging and eye-opening … The graphic novel–like illustrations are eye-catching and effective in breaking up the dense facts and examples featured. VERDICT “Valuable” is an understatement. A timely read on surveillance and mass data collection for public and school libraries.
—School Library Journal, 02/17
This lively effort serves well as a revealing, thoughtful, and provocative introduction to a complex subject and alarming realities.
—Kirkus Reviews, 01/15/17
Belle Wuthrich’s astute, graphic-novelesque illustrations inject further insight into Kyi’s messages, making it easy for readers to grasp commonalities between their lives and the situations depicted on the page.
—BC Bookworld, Summer/17
Accessible yet thought-provoking.
Wuthrich's colour illustrations nicely complement the text and sometimes even expand upon it. For example, in a section called "The art of getting lost" that discusses how Irish kids and their mothers used cellphones, the illustration shows two kids looking out of a treehouse covered with aluminum foil that shields them from a parent's annoying call.
